5K Fun Run 19th September 2021

On Sunday September 19th we are hosting a fundraising 5K Fun Run in Fore. The run starts on the Abbey Road at the entrance to "Nancy to Nellie". Registration is in the village and starts at 10.30am.

The Run itself starts at 12 noon, proceeds in an anti-colckwise direction and finishes at the Abbey carpark on the road from Castlepollard.

In addition to the main event we will be offering a shorter option of a walk on the "Nancy to Nellie" route, for families with smaller kids, which will start and finish at the same place as the 5K. (ie starting on the Abbey road and finishing at the Abbey carpark)

Stewarts will be in place at all junctions and danger points to take care of participants in both events. There will be a number of water stations along the route and we have motorbike marshals patrolling the route to alert traffic which will be diverted where needed to make the route as safe as possible.

Registration and the run itself will be handled in accordance with current Covid 19 guidelines.
All participants will be made aware of the following.

• All those taking part must adhere to Rules of the Road

• Appropriate clothing & footwear must be worn.

• Fitness level must be appropriate to the event

• All entrants must be in good health and physically prepared to take on the challenge.

• It is strongly recommended that you should not take part unless you have engaged in sufficient training.

• If you have not exercised before or for some time, you should not take part without first having consulted with your Doctor.

• Competitors are obliged to follow the instructions of Stewards, Course Volunteers or An Garda Siochana at all times

• Competitors must start in the official start Area at the official start time and keep to the full official course

• It is the responsibility of the competitor to familiarise themselves with the event rules and any Race Information as may be published by the club

• Competitors are requested to leave the village of Fore in the condition in which they found it by bringing their rubbish home with them.

• We recommend the wearing of reflective clothing at all times

• All Children must be accompanied by an adult - Buggies are permitted but must Start at designated start time and location for buggies

• The current government restrictions in relation to Covid 19 must be adhered to by all competitors.

• Competitors must maintain the appropriate physical distance from all others from the time that they arrive in Fore until such time that they leave the village again after the event.

• Face masks must be worn at all times other than during the run itself.

• Competitors should use their own water bottles as much as possible.

• You must not participate if you are experiencing any symtoms of Covid-19

• Do not participate if you have recently been in contact with a person who has been recently diagnosed with Covid-19

• You must obey any instruction issued by the Covid 19 event officer or any of the marshals without question or delay
