Traditionally Ballycomoyle have entered a
walking group in the North Westmeath St. Patrick's Day Parade which
takes place in Castlepollard. This year we decided to take a
different approach. As you can see from the photos we upped the ante
and entered a proper float which hopefully will be the first of
many. Seán Dermody very generously provided the truck and trailer
and with his daughter Caoimhe gave up their Sunday power washing
both to have them looking their best. (the truck and trailer, not
themselves) Anne was meanwhile busy on the sewing machine running up
the Ballycomoyle bunting that you can see below. Doreen organised
the music and set dancers, Libby rounded up the Ladies Junior
representatives complete with Shield and we took to the streets with
Celeste at the wheel.
The entire endeavour was a huge success and we crowned the day by
winning an award from the assembled judges under some category or
other; the name of which escapes me at the time of writing.
