Killucan 2-11
On Sunday last a panel of
twenty young players had their first outing in this year’s minor football league
against Killucan at Ballycomoyle.
While we started well we allowed Killucan into the game as half time approached
and At the break the sides were level 1-5 to 2-2 for the visitors.
At half time we introduced Mark Coyne & Kenny lord and this steadied the ship
for most of the second half. But then the fitness levels began to creak and for
the last 5/6 minutes Killucan laid siege to our goal. However a fine performance
by Stephen Barden in the forwards, he was always on hand to take the final pass
and scoring six or seven points he kept us in the driving at the final whistle.
The backs may have creaked from time to time but overall it was a
fair performance first time out.Shea Higgins, Stephen Sullivan and Felim Burke
were steady throughout. In the midfield area Darren Cyclone & Stephen Grace were
back bigger & better than ever and along with Stephen Boylan & Mark Coyne they
maintained a great supply of good ball to the forwards that was put to good use
by S. Barden.Kenny Lord Shane Fagan, Colm Murtagh and Paul Dermody.and Aidan
Daniels.
